Taxonomic Comments
The treatment followed here (Kartesz 1994) and Kartesz (1999) puts several taxa in the widespread Rhynchospora capitellata, including R. leptocarpa. Sorrie (2000), in SIDA 19: 137-147, treats R. leptocarpa distinct from R. capitellata based on morphological characters and habitat requirement differences.
