Taxonomic Comments
FNA (vol. 13, 2025) does not distinguish infrataxa in this species. Weakley (2025) accepts Acer platanoides ssp. platanoides and notes that "only ssp. platanoides is introduced in North America; ssp. turkestanicum (Pax) P.C. de Jong occurs in Central Asia to north Pakistan."
