Taxonomic Comments
In the Kartesz (1999) treatment, this species is more-or-less synonymous with Aster pilosus as accepted in Kartesz's 1994 checklist except that plants of the southeastern U.S. called A. pilosus var. priceae are now treated as a distinct species (Symphyotrichum priceae).
